The Business of Dentistry have done it again and launched another exciting and action-packed conference for Practice Managers. The event took place on the 9th November at the King James Hotel in Edinburgh. The first conference for Practice Managers took place in Northamptonshire in June and was commended for its exhilarating success. Following this success the BoD arranged another event to reach out to other Practice Mangers across Scotland and the North of England, to allow them to have a similar opportunity.
The conference was designed to meet the growing need of Practice Mangers to develop, tailor and motivate their businesses with skillful advice and networking with other professionals. The one day event consisted of passionate and stimulating presentations led by leading experts and specialists within the dental profession, as well as providing invaluable networking and discussions on shared issues and challenges.
The conference was hosted by Sheila Scott. Scott led a presentation called ‘Running the extra mile- How to impress your customers.’ The presentations were molded to information and detailed requirements specific and desirable to Practice Managers. The aim was to provide these Managers with a wide range of applicable knowledge and guidance to help them progress and develop their own practices, with emphasis put on profits and performance. Nick Dilworth, the BoD managing director said, ‘Practice managers play a vital role in the business of dentistry. This Practice Managers’ Conference is a fantastic opportunity to discuss the challenges managers are faced with and focus on the opportunities available. We are offering an impressive line-up, to introduce some innovative ideas which will help boost business for dental practices, especially during these hard times.’
A highlight of the day was the involvement of many Practice Mangers themselves who related their own personal experiences with the conference. Nigel Jones (sales directer of Practice Plan) commented that ‘It has been really beneficial for practice teams to hear from those who have actually experienced and translated theories into actions and seen results in their practice. The event was a real success and we have received some extremely positive feedback’. Due to the triumph of both events the BoD have now determined the conference as a permanent date in the dental calendar. Find more information at www.bodmagazine.com
