The newly reunited, 90s girls pop band Atomic Kitten recently performed in Liverpool to honour and raise funds for a charity ball which was put together by Liverpool Dental Spa. Liverpool Dental Spa is an award-winning practice. The owners, Marius McGovern and Debbie McGovern held the event, along with Julie Perry Events, at the Hilton Hotel, Liverpool.
The aim of the glamorous function was to promote and raise money for a well-respected expedition led by the Dental Mavericks charity.
This expedition is to be run by a group travelling to the Rif Mountains in North Africa to attempt to provide treatment for more than 500 children suffering from dental problems, many of them with chronic difficulties.
Simon Ross, from Radio City hosted the elegant affair to over 200 guests. The audience were exhilarated by the Kittens return, having been spilt for nearly thirteen years it was a momentous occasions to witness their reunion, especially in their hometown. The crowd enjoyed the replay of their greatest hits and reminisced and sang along to their old number 1s such as Whole Again, The Tide is High and Right Now. Atomic Kitten were also joined by Christopher Maloney, a finalist of the X-factor 2012. There were also some familiar faces to be spotted in the crowd, these included wags Nicola Carragher and Chantelle Tago, as well as Liverpool’s legendary goalkeeper Brad Jones.
The event was a huge success, with the Kittens helping to raise over £20,000 for the Dental Mavericks charity and this will go a long way with their expedition.
Kerry Katona was quoted saying, ‘It was absolutely fantastic playing in front of a home crowd again as a “Kitten” and doing it for such a worthwhile cause made it all the more special.’
Marius McGovern concluded, ‘The event has raised over £20,000 tonight to enable us to help many children who are suffering needlessly. We are very grateful to everyone who has supported us, especially Atomic Kitten, Chris Maloney and our many friends and colleagues who have come along tonight.’
