Impression-Taking-12th-AprilOne of our popular courses, ‘Advance Impression Taking’ took place on Friday 12th of April in Leicester. Nurses attended the event to learn and practice alginate and spec silicone impressions. The workshop was run at one of Ivovlar Vivadent’s state of the art, advanced training rooms and was taught by the accomplished and brilliant Rachel Teeling.

The morning kicked off with a lecture. This covered various topics including: legal and ethical considerations when taking impressions, health and safety and

managing cross infection.By 11 o’clock delegates had already started taking alginate impressions. It was a lively atmosphere to be a part of. Delegates were Tweeting and posting hilarious photographsof some the work they’d carried out.

Following a well deserved lunch, members continued to carry on with their impression taking. They also started taking putty and wash impressions. Rachel was monitoring the whole time, acting as a guide and a support for all the delegates. The day was rounded up with a quiz and some information on how to complete the record of experience portfolio. Overall, the day covered extensive amounts of information, provided different types of learning styles and at the same time evoked a fun environment for all members to appreciate.

Rachel is an exceptional teacher. She is light-hearted, articulate and has a great sense of humour. She is incredibly easy to engage with, boosting confidence in her pupils.
